The Job Ready has started, now what?

Tips for planning Collaborate classes and monitoring your class’s performance.

During the training and certification of facilitators, topics such as the importance of soft skills in the professional and personal future, the purpose of learning behavioral skills that will provide tools for our students to have more chances of employability, job retention and career progression were discussed, and how we, as facilitators, have an important role in raising awareness of ways to put soft skills into practice through practical activities that are part of people’s daily lives.

Thinking about this support for advancing the planning and monitoring of your class in the “Skills for employability” program, we have brought here some tips that can help you evolve with the development of the soft skills most desired by the job market:

The journey of knowledge is like a train trip!

Imagine that you are the driver of a train that will take your students on a journey where, at each stop, there will be situations in which people will put into practice their knowledge of socio-emotional skills, or to meet new people, communicate for various requests or even to set goals that will be achieved at the end of this journey.

Use your creativity and use the platform’s tools to create the dynamics of your next Collaborate class.

In the “Collaborate” module of the lessons, the student will be able to focus on the “Community” and “Online” exercises, which are simple tasks that can be done with family, friends or on the study of a case in which a reflection will be made to be inserted into the platform.

For the “Collaborate Class”, you as the facilitator, can count on the help of “My Mentor”, an artificial intelligence tool or the “Classroom” field to search for ideas for new activities and dynamics for your in-person or remote classes.

Both “My mentor” and the “Classroom” field can be accessed in each lesson, as shown in the print below:

Let the platform help you notify students about the deadline for completing module assessments!

To help students better plan for completing lessons and completing module assessments, the platform allows you to enter deadlines for completing assessments. As soon as the dates are entered, emails will be sent to students with reminders about the upcoming completion dates, so you don’t have to worry about notifying them.

To do this, simply log into the platform and click on the class for which you want to set the dates for module assessments, as shown in the screenshot below:

This makes it easier for students to plan their lessons and complete module assessments, with the ease of automatic reminders sent by the platform.

Have you already received the calendar template with suggested time distribution for your Colabore classes?

Bruna Cenço and Ludmila Carvalho, project managers at the Wadhwani Foundation, have time distribution templates that, aligned with the guidelines of your leadership and coordination, can help you plan Colabore classes and define the dates for module assessments, monitoring your students in relation to the completion of the Job Ready program until the end date of your class. If you have not yet received this schedule, talk to your leadership and request it today.

These actions that we suggest in this article, such as “Collaboration Classes”, the use of artificial intelligence tools and planning dates for completing module assessments, if carried out consistently, will eventually become routine and will be carried out organically, in addition to making the learning of soft skills unforgettable for your students, being a good and easy experience for you.

Enjoy your class!

  • Professional development: Discussion forums include discussions on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Participating in these discussions can help participants stay current and improve their skills.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Provides a platform for current and former students to share their knowledge, experiences and ideas on specific topics or industries. This knowledge exchange promotes learning and shared growth.
  • Networking: Facilitates connections between students and alumni from diverse backgrounds and geographic locations. Networking can lead to collaboration opportunities, job referrals, and mentoring relationships.
  • Problem-solving: Forum members can seek advice and solutions to challenges they face in their studies and work. By tapping into the collective intelligence of the community, individuals can find innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Community building: A sense of belonging among alumni and students is essential for professional development. This community support can be invaluable for career progression and professional growth.
  • Certificates with hours: you asked for it and we delivered! Starting this month, at the end of each completed module, you will be able to download certificates of the studied skill, showing the hours worked. This is a great opportunity to enhance your resume, your LinkedIn profile or even prove that you have completed additional hours in extracurricular activities.
  • Expert Talk: This is a wonderful opportunity that the Foundation is offering so that you can hear about what some sectors are actually looking for in professionals today. These are sessions with experts on relevant and current topics in the world of work that take place twice a month and are taught by expert guests. Invitations appear in cards on the homepage of the Wadhwani Foundation platform. Stay tuned!

We wish you success on your journey towards the future of work!

Fim de semestre! Junho foi mês de festa, com encerramentos e formaturas.

June was a special month for the Wadhwani Foundation, marking the end of several partner programs and celebrating the graduation of many students, who are now more ready to advance in the job market.

Among the examples, the Fundação Bunge, with its strong tradition of supporting professional education in the bakery industry, it has shown an incredible graduation rate, with almost 90% of its students graduating with the minimum grade and obtaining certification. The closing ceremony in São Paulo was attended by representatives of WF and several partners and was even more special with the announcement, on site, of which bakery the Bunge Foundation had sent each graduate to.

Another really cool example was the ESPRO, which carried out an intensive 25-day pilot program with two classes for Training for the World of Work in a fully synchronous format – an unprecedented experience for WF, but which brought great results and extremely committed students. Other examples that completed their first classes of 2024 were GAMT and MeMaker, which barely finished and are already committed to the next classes.

Recent graduates can now enjoy a range of benefits as Wadhwani Foundation alumni, what we call the Alumni Community. These services include career mentoring, access to a database of opportunities, exclusive courses and lectures, and other benefits that are yet to come.

It is worth remembering that the main objective of the Wadhwani Foundation is to promote employability. Therefore, we continue to monitor these students for two years and offer ongoing support to ensure their professional success.

Silvia Armada, Director of Student Success at Wadhwani Foundation, expressed her satisfaction with the completions: “Seeing our students graduate and make a meaningful contribution to the workforce and their communities is a great feeling. As the year continues, we can’t wait to see more students graduate, furthering our mission of fostering employability.”

She also highlighted the growing importance of soft skills in today’s job market, highlighting how skills such as effective communication, teamwork and resilience are highly valued by employers.
