Wadhwani Foundation appoints Gopal Devanahalli as president-skilling

Wadhwani Foundation announces the appointment of Gopal Devanahalli as President, Skilling. In this role, Gopal will lead the Foundation’s skilling initiatives globally, driving impactful programs for workforce development and job creation.

Gopal comes with over 3 decades of diverse leadership experience spanning IT services, software products, BPO, healthcare, education, telecom, and consumer industries. Prior to joining Wadhwani Foundation, he served as Group President – Strategy & Business Development at Manipal Education & Medical Group, where he contributed to new investments and digital transformation initiatives. He has also held CEO roles at MeritTrac and Manipal Education Americas, driving business growth, digital strategies, and operational excellence. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at Infosys and Kotak, where he played a key role in digital transformation, business growth, and strategic initiatives.

Gopal holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and an M.Sc. (Tech) in Computer Science from BITS, Pilani. He has also completed the Corporate Director Certificate from Harvard Business School.

Dr. Ajay Kela will continue to lead the Wadhwani Innovation Network and its Centres of Excellence, while Mr. Devanahalli will oversee the skilling initiatives.
