Innovation, Design, And Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp Aims To Cultivate Nationwide Entrepreneurial Skills

‘Camp to focus on product design and experiential Learning’

New Delhi, Jan 29: AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam centrally inaugurated the second phase of ‘Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamps’ via video conferencing on Monday from AICTE HQ, New Delhi.

Envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the IDE Bootcamp is the unique initiative aimed to nurture the Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurial skills of Student Innovators.

The IDE Bootcamps exemplify the government’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, propelling India towards becoming a global hub for innovation-driven enterprises.

Addressing the inauguration, Chairman highlighted “These bootcamps are a platform for young innovators where ideas transcend into action, where creativity meets execution, and where dreams evolve into reality. The main objective behind organizing Phase II of IDE bootcamps is to cultivate the entrepreneurial mindset and encourage young minds to lead their own startups.”

The five-day intensive bootcamp is scheduled from 29th January 2024 to 2nd February 2024 at different nodal centers across India. More than 3000+ Student Innovators and Innovation Ambassadors from Higher Education Institutes, Schools and J&K and Ladakh (PM-USPY) beneficiary students will be participating in the second phase of IDE bootcamps.

The Ministry of Education, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) has organized the bootcamp in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, renowned for its support of entrepreneurship education.

During the five-day scheduled bootcamp, the participants will be trained in product design, ergonomics design thinking and pitching skills to thrive in today’s dynamic business landscape. The 5-day IDE Bootcamp will focus on hands-on, experiential learning. Participants will get an opportunity to delve into various product design methodologies, foster design thinking concepts, and gain invaluable experience.

On the first day of bootcamps, the participants will showcase their innovation in the exhibition, followed by a local tour arranged on the fourth day to provide participants real-world insights, networking opportunities, and creative inspiration, enhancing their entrepreneurial mindset. On the final day the student teams will pitch their innovations in front of expert panels consisting of startup founders, incubators, lP experts, angel Investors and VC’s & knowledge agencies.

The ten Institutions selected as Nodal centres for IDE bootcamps are: The National Institute of Engineering, Mysore, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, Coimbatore, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore, Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management and Gramothan, Jaipur, Vardhaman College of Engineering, Hyderabad, Karnavati University, Ahmedabad, Swami Vivekananda University, Kolkata and Indian Institutes of Management, Sambalpur.

AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam will address the valedictory session of IDE Bootcamp at Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management and Gramothan, Jaipur on 2nd February, 2024.
