A&N Administration Organises 3-Day Workshop on AI, ML, Generative AI and Data Analytics to Improve Service Delivery

Port Blair, June 19: In a significant step towards harnessing the power of emerging technologies for enhanced governance and improved public service delivery, Andaman & Nicobar Administration with the assistance of Wadhwani Foundation organised a 03 days’ comprehensive workshop/ training program on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, and Data Analytics and its application in Govt. process for improving service delivery. 

The workshop held for Senior Officers (Secretaries and HODs) today aimed at giving due thrust on its application in various key Govt. process in Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

The workshop also aimed to equip the administrative leaders with cutting-edge knowledge and practical insights into how these transformative technologies can be leveraged to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations. The expert team from the Wadhwani Foundation meticulously curated the content, focusing on real-world use cases that are directly relevant to the unique challenges and opportunities within the Andaman and Nicobar administration.

The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra, IAS was present throughout the workshop. In his opening remarks, the Chief Secretary emphasised on the need for usage of emerging technologies for digital transformation of Govt. processes in Andaman & Nicobar Administration to ensure much better delivery of Govt. Services.

The Workshop was highly interactive and covered emerging technologies such as:

Understanding AI and ML: Participants were introduced to the foundational concepts of AI and ML, including their potential applications in various domains of public administration. The sessions highlighted how these technologies can automate routine tasks, enhance decision-making processes, and provide predictive insights for better resource management.

Generative AI Applications: The workshop delved into the innovative use of generative AI, showcasing its capabilities in creating efficient workflows, generating actionable insights from large datasets, and improving citizen engagement through personalized services.

Data Analytics for Impact Measurement: Emphasis was placed on the critical role of data analytics in measuring the impact of various government programs. The participants explored methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven policy decisions.

Real-World Use Cases: The Wadhwani Foundation team presented a range of successful use cases from other government bodies demonstrating how emerging technologies have been utilized to enhance service delivery. These case studies provided valuable insights into the practical implementation of AI and data analytics in the public sector.

The Secretary (IT/AR), Shri L. Kumar, IAS, in his welcome address stated that Andaman Administration has been making continuous efforts to sensitize all the officers and operational level team on various technologies to facilitate its usage in day to day working.  He also stated that the 03 days’ workshop shall cover around 250 officers and staffs for giving and exposure and hand holding its implementation.
