The Santa Maria University Center (UNIFSM) has formalized a partnership with the Wadhwani Foundation, which is globally recognized for its entrepreneurship and innovation programs aimed at empowering individuals to create and manage successful businesses. Through this partnership, UNIFSM students will have the opportunity to participate in these programs, developing essential skills for the job market and for creating their own businesses.
It is important to highlight that not only the students but the entire local community will benefit from this partnership. Soon, UNIFSM will bring the culture of innovation to the local community through the “New Business Factory” program, encouraging the creation of new products, services, and solutions to regional problems.
The Wadhwani Foundation has an extensive network of mentors and investors who will offer guidance and support to UNIFSM students interested in starting their own businesses. This connection with experienced professionals will be crucial to the students’ success in their ventures. The partnership will stimulate entrepreneurship in the local community, creating new job and income opportunities. This will contribute to the socioeconomic development of the region and improve the population’s quality of life. Through this collaboration, the aim is to promote entrepreneurship, foster innovation, support business growth, and contribute to the region’s socioeconomic development.
The Wadhwani Foundation (WF) is a global non-profit organization founded by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Dr. Romesh Wadhwani, with the mission of accelerating economic development in emerging countries through large-scale job creation. The Foundation aims to encourage the creation of high-value jobs, empowering individuals and transforming lives.
Since Dr. Romesh joined the Giving Pledge initiative, he has committed to transferring 80% of his wealth to support the various Wadhwani Foundation initiatives promoted in over 25 countries across Asia, Africa, and Latin America. As part of its philosophy, the Foundation does not receive external funding, with the explicit intention of staying true to its mission.
The WF’s goal is to impact millions of people in Brazil and worldwide, and through strategic partnerships, it has positively impacted the lives of thousands of people, equipping them for a more promising future. Together with our partners, we have worked tirelessly to generate the greatest impact possible in our country.
