RVS College hosts two-day workshop on Innovation and Entrepreneurship

A two-day workshop on Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship began on Thursday at R.V.S. College of Engineering and Technology under the aegis of AICTE and with support from the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The programme aims to build the capacity of District Education Officers and DIET members in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Manoj Kumar Ranjan, Director of the Primary Education Department, Government of Jharkhand, attended the inaugural session as the Chief Guest. Kunal Kumar, Director of BIS Jamshedpur, was present as the Special Guest, while Nodal Center Head Sagar Hari Ramani represented the department. Expert speakers Gopa Kumar Viswanathan and Tejas Vijay Jadhav from the Wadhwani Foundation are leading the workshop as authorised trainers.

The event was attended by RVS Educational Trust Treasurer Shatrughan Singh, Governing Body Member Shakti Singh and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Tiwari. The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp. Guests were welcomed with shawls and mementoes.

In his welcome address, Prof. Tiwari highlighted the workshop’s objective of strengthening innovation-driven learning. Special Guest Kunal Kumar stressed that “education alone is not enough; innovation and skill development based on education play a crucial role. Any developed nation builds its foundation on these parameters.”

Chief Guest Ranjan underscored the need for activity-based, innovative learning at the primary level. “The department drafts new schemes, but they are implemented on the ground by district and block-level officers and teachers. Everyone associated with education must work in alignment,” he said.

The workshop includes group activities, experiential sessions and discussions on fostering creativity, entrepreneurship and design thinking—tools essential for driving educational innovation across districts.
