In a bid to boost digital literacy and enhance the skills of the state’s youth, the Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch the ambitious ‘AI Pragya’ campaign, aiming to train 10 lakh citizens in advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and Cyber Security.

The program, which will be open to both online and offline participation, will offer training followed by certification. The campaign is expected to be inaugurated by the Chief Minister later this month. Managed by the Center for e-Governance (CEG), an agency under the State Information Technology and Electronics Department, the initiative will be closely monitored at the district level by District Magistrates to ensure its smooth implementation.

The ‘AI Pragya’ program will involve collaboration with key government departments, including Education, Health, Agriculture, Rural Development, Revenue, and Secretariat Administration. Special focus will be placed on rural areas, where farmers, students, teachers, women in self-help groups, village heads, and public service center operators will be trained in digital technologies.

The program’s government order was issued on April 24, and the training will be conducted by industry experts from renowned global companies such as Microsoft, Intel, HCL, Amazon, Google, and the Wadhwani Foundation. The initiative is expected to significantly enhance the employability of participants, equipping them with the skills necessary for the digital economy.
