National Institute of Technology (NIT) Manipur has successfully conducted a 2-Day Capacity Building Workshop on “Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE)” from November 20 to 21, 2025.The workshop, held at Imphal, was part of a nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening innovation, creativity, design thinking, and entrepreneurship skills among district-level education leaders, in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.The workshop was organised in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, renowned for promoting entrepreneurship education.<\/p>\n
As per a release issued by NIT Manipur, the National rollout of the IDE workshop was inaugurated on October 30, 2025 by Prof Sitharam T G, Chairman, AICTE; Dheeraj Sahu, Additional Secretary, DoSEL and Dr Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman, AICTE.<\/p>\n
The initiative covers 25 States and 2 Union Territories, involving District Education Officers and DIET Members across India.<\/p>\n
The inaugural function of the workshop held at Imphal yesterday was graced by by dignitaries, including Prof W Chandbabu, Vice Chancellor, Dhanamanjuri University; Prof Kh Tomba, Registrar, NIT Manipur; Mayur Borkar, Regional Coordinator, Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, Government of India; Prof SS Khanka, NIFM Faridabad; Dr Ngangbam Romeji, Assistant Professor and CBDE Co-ordinator\/PI, NIT Manipur; Dr Wangkheirakpam Vandana, Assistant Professor and CBDE Co-PI, NIT Manipur; Dr Suprabha R, Wadhawani Foundation; and Prof Sudipto Bhattacharya.<\/p>\n
A total of 65 participants, including Government Officers, District Education Officers, and DIET faculty members, participated in the two-day workshop.<\/p>\n
The workshop featured 12 technical and hands-on sessions, which focused on practical learning, group activities, and design-based problem solving.<\/p>\n
Moreover, NIT Manipur has expressed its sincere gratitude to the Ministry of Education, DoSEL, AICTE-MIC, and the PM SHRI initiative for selecting the institute as the Nodal Centre for the Phase-3 Capacity Building Workshop on IDE for District Education Officers and DIET members.<\/p>\n
