Building India's Innovation Ecosystem
Innovation thrives through collaboration. Wadhwani Foundation brings together leading academic institutions, researchers, industry, governments, philanthropies, and ecosystem partners to accelerate research translation, commercialization, and real-world impact.
Today, this work is advanced through the Wadhwani Innovation Network (WIN) in India in collaboration with leading research institutions and ecosystem partners. Separately, Wadhwani Electronic Labs (WEL), established at IIT Bombay, continues to support hands-on engineering education and electronics innovation. Both initiatives receive philanthropic grant support from the Wadhwani Charitable Foundation (WCF).

Best suited for
Researchers • Universities • Research Institutions • Startups • Industry • Innovation Ecosystem Partners
En Red de Innovación Wadhwani (WIN) is Wadhwani Foundation’s flagship innovation initiative in India. Through partnerships with leading academic and research institutions including IITs, IISc and C-CAMP, WIN accelerates the translation of breakthrough research into products, startups and scalable solutions.
WIN advances interdisciplinary research across priority areas including Artificial Intelligence, Advanced AI, Critical Minerals, Mining Semiconductor Technologies, Quantum Computing, Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, HealthTech, Space Technologies and Critical Minerals.
Building India’s Translational Innovation Infrastructure
WIN is establishing a network of Innovation Centres across leading academic and research institutions, complemented by two flagship Innovation SuperHubs—the Wadhwani School of AI & Intelligent Systems at IIT Kanpur y el Wadhwani Health & Bio Hub at IIT Bombay. Together, these initiatives strengthen India’s translational innovation ecosystem through world-class research infrastructure, translational funding, commercialization support, mentorship and industry partnerships.
Scaling Innovation Through the National Innovation Network (NIN)
Building on the success of WIN, the National Innovation Network (NIN) is a collaborative initiative designed to extend the WIN model across India through partnerships with governments, philanthropies, CSR initiatives, corporates, academic institutions and research organizations.
NIN seeks to democratize access to translational research infrastructure and innovation support through a shared operational and governance framework developed by the Wadhwani Foundation. Through Innovation Access and strategic partnerships—including with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF)—NIN aims to expand translational funding, strengthen innovation capacity and accelerate the commercialization of research across India.
